About Us

Established in Darwin in the mid-1980s, Fun Supply emerged as a response to the challenges of adult life. Geoff’s deep connection to the ocean was evident throughout his life. Growing up in North Cottesloe, Western Australia, during the 1950s and 1960s. On a windy Perth day in the late 70's windsurfing brought him immense joy and relaxation. He contemplated the various stress-relieving activities he engaged in, including early Sunday morning yoga and meditation, and pondered whether these pastimes or the exhilaration of speed, the power of the wind and waves, were superior.

The decision was straightforward: Fun Supply was conceived as an escape and a positive outlet when the world seemed overwhelming. The business was not established for financial gain; it was born well before the advent of internet marketing and sales. Nor was it created to seek attention or achieve elite-level performance. Its purpose was in its name, simply to enrich the lives of customers and students, showcasing the transformative power of this escape from the daily routine. A customer’s smile held immense value, leaving both instructors and students feeling accomplished and rejuvenated.

You can see the result on the beaches of Darwin today… He joined the small group of local Darwin windsurfing enthusiasts in the early 80s and established ways to supply the gear they required and ways to teach newcomers in his time off work. And each new era of sport that evolved Fun Supply brought to Darwin. Windsurfing gear and lessons to Darwin in the 80s and 90s, kitesurfing in the late 90s and early 2000s, stand-up paddle in the early 2000s and today hydrofoiling and wingfoiling…

Fun Supply continues to offer a fleeting respite from reality, recharging us and propelling us forward.
